{"id":52,"date":"2019-09-20T12:04:25","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T12:04:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corben-dallas.co.uk\/durango95\/?p=52"},"modified":"2019-09-20T16:27:04","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T16:27:04","slug":"reubens-is-back-in-formula-oz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/durango95.uk\/index.php\/2019\/09\/20\/reubens-is-back-in-formula-oz\/","title":{"rendered":"Reubens is Back! &#8211; in Formula Oz"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Such is the powerful thirst for motorsport Down Under a new open wheeled race series is about to start down there just as the big World Championship series wind down for the winter.  <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Australian_S5000_Championship\">Formula S5000<\/a>  is the official title but we will be referring to it as Formula Oz for the purposes of this blog. It will also feature one of F1&#8217;s most popular drivers, Brazilian Reubens Barrichello and Mathew Brabham, latest addition to the Brabham racing heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though it starts at Sandown Raceway, hopefully it will include classic tracks such as <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phillip_Island_Grand_Prix_Circuit\">Philip Island<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Adelaide_Street_Circuit\">Adelaide<\/a>. Apparently it will be part of the support for the Australian Grand Prix so Melbourne&#8217;s Abert Park should feature at some point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"714\" src=\"https:\/\/corben-dallas.co.uk\/durango95\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/FormulaOz2-1024x714.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-55\" srcset=\"https:\/\/durango95.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/FormulaOz2-1024x714.png 1024w, https:\/\/durango95.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/FormulaOz2-300x209.png 300w, https:\/\/durango95.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/FormulaOz2-768x536.png 768w, https:\/\/durango95.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/FormulaOz2-640x446.png 640w, https:\/\/durango95.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/FormulaOz2-717x500.png 717w, https:\/\/durango95.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/FormulaOz2.png 1395w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The series runs cars at a form of Formula 3 spec so similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/W_Series_(championship)\">W Series<\/a> in terms of chassis but FOz will be running substantially beefier power plants.
